About the Village

For over 400 years the Arawak Lokono, First Peoples, have struggled to maintain their land and culture from colonial powers. The struggle has left our people, battered, disenfranchised, and segregated. However, we believe the Father in Heaven is seeking to restore the First Peoples, and show the world how to live in harmony with the Great Creation. To this end, we are seeking to connect in spirit with our brothers and sisters of the indigenous peoples of the world community.

Together we built a bright and prosperous future.

Dallawalla is an Amerindian community in the northern part of Region 10, Guyana. We are a tribe of more than 100 First Peoples, with family and friends all over the world. Nestled atop the great Demerara River, we have direct access to the Atlantic Ocean, Caribbean Ocean, and the interior of the rain forest. Our tropical paradise is a part of the Amazon forest basin, as well as the the Gold Shield, and is rich in resources and biodiversity. Our Village produces many wonderful varieties of tropical fruits, vegetables, and herbs. The amazing natural plants of the forest provide natural, organic nutrition and medicine to our people. Abundant rain feeds many springs, creeks and lands with fresh waters. This all helps support the economy and livelihood of many tribe members who earn their way straight from the earth, as the Father intended.

Protecting the land, water, air, and resources of tribal lands means defending tribal borders and teaching caretaking the forest instead of exploiting it. Natural spaces need indigenous stewards, who know how to love the Mother earth with time tested indigenous methods. In a world of changing climate challenges we are building systems to protect our environmental future and gathering tribal investment from interested global partners.

The Village is seeking to grow in tribal membership, tribal economics, tribal land development, tribal healthcare and tribal education.
